Indo-Persian Figural Gouache Paintings on Paper
Item Details
A pair of Indo-Persian gouache paintings on paper. One painting depicts a group of figures seated in an interior setting. Four female figures are illustrated tending to a seated male figure against a metallic gold ground. Text is written in the top and bottom borders. The second image illustrates a group of female figures in a building looking out to a pair of male figures outside. The work is inscribed to the lower border. Both pieces are presented beneath off- mats under glass. Each is in an ornate frame with inlaid wood patterns, and easel stands on the verso.
Condition
- slight abrasions to frames; overall surface wear; minor bleeding to some of the media; foxing.
Dimensions
- measures frame; measurement of visible painting 3.5" W x 5.5" H for each.
