A hand-painted Popeye Themed Gone Fishing animation cel, signed by animator Myron Waldman. It depicts the beloved sailor teetering with one foot on the end of a dock and the other on the end of a preemptively launched boat peopled by his three nephews. The piece is hand numbered ‘AP 6/25’, as well as hand signed by Waldman (1908-2006), a noted animator who worked on Betty Boop, Popeye, Superman, and numerous other cartoons over the course of five decades. The cel is set against a lake background. The piece comes in a protective plastic sleeve with a King Features certificate of authenticity.
