18th-Century Oil Painting on Stone after Paolo Caliari

An 18th-century oil painting on stone Christian scene of the Samaritan woman at the well after Italian Renaissance painter Paolo Caliari, known as Paolo Veronese (1528-1588). The scene comes from the Gospel of John (John 4:4–26), wherein a woman of Samaria meets Jesus at a well where he asks her for a drink. Signed to the verso with an attached letter of provenance. Presented without glass, housed gilt and gesso wood frame with ovular form top moulding and a textured sight edge.
EBTH certifies this item is from the private collection of personal property formerly owned by Dr. Robert H. Schuller.
