Large Vintage German Porcelain Doll

Item Details

A vintage or antique German-made bisque porcelain doll, with composite limbs. The doll has hand-painted eyebrows, lashes and lips, with blue glass eyes. The doll has light brown hair of unknown composition. The doll is dressed in a floor-length pink and green patterned long sleeved cotton dress with a matching hat, and white leather shoes and crocheted white socks. The back of the doll’s head is marked ‘Made in Germany, Annand Marseille 390 n. DRGM246n, A11 M’. The soles of the shoes are marked ‘12’. Included with the doll is a display stand marked ‘Kaiser’.

Condition

to fair:
- some surface wear, marks throughout
- clothing is of recent manufacture; not original to doll; does not appear to fit properly (appears to be too large for doll)
- two small holes drilled in back of head, possibly for attaching wig
- some light tape or adhesive residue on back of head underneath wig
