An Ethan Allen Boston style rocking chair. The chair comprises: a wide top rail with scrolled ends; curved stiles flanking six plain turned spindles tapering toward the top rail; curved arms with scrolled handholds resting on turned supports and a single spindle support to each side; a solid seat with curved sides and a concave center; turned legs on a rocker base; and turned spindle braces between each pair of legs. The top rail has a painted depiction of a bird among strawberries and compass accents at each of the scrolled ends.
