Antique Mechanical Apple Peeler

Item Details

An antique mechanical apple peeler. This wooden device has a crank which turns a wheel connected by a leather belt to a smaller wheel with turns a spit onto which an apple is stuck, such that the apple rotates against the peeler blade. This piece has no apparent maker’s marks and includes a decorative faux apple.

Condition

- discoloration and marks; wear to finish; strap of peeler attachment broken; turning mechanism intact; wear consistent with age and prior use.
