An antique Louis XVI style desk chair with cane seat. This chair features a rope carved, bowed and arched crest with carved acanthus leaf shoulders over rope and foliate stiles with a stripe upholstered seat back including braided trim. The chair includes a round cane panel seat inset into a carved and reeded support frame with carved rosette blocks and rests on turned and fluted legs including carved knees, ending in blunt arrow feet. The legs include acanthus leaf accent carvings and pads attached to the undersides.
