Vintage Virginia Metalcrafters Cast Iron Horse Doorstop

A vintage Virginia Metalcrafters cast iron horse doorstop. The piece is a 1949 copyrighted Virginia Metal Crafters, of Waynesboro, VA. It is called ‘Hunter’ and has the horse posed facing left with its head turned slightly forward. The piece is embossed on the verso ‘18-7 Copyright 1949 VA Metal Crafters Waynesboro VA’ along with the maker’s initials logo and ‘CRK’ attributed to Calvin Roy Kinstler. Calvin Roy Kinstler was commissioned by Virginia Metalcrafters to create casts for two horses, named Hunter and Citation the Triple Crown Winner.
