An original German Mauthe Mid Century Modern maple wood mantle chime clock. Clock face is wood grain center with a white banding where the face number representations sit as radiating lines from the center with double lines for the quarter hours. Simple and sleek brass hour and minute hands set within and a brass frame hinged glass door cover closes against the face to protect the clock and three wind up mechanisms from dust and debris. Face is marked ‘Mauthe’ to the top center. Back of the face cabinet has a wood door that opens to reveal the brass clock workings and chimes. Brass feet support the mantle base. The wind up key is included.
