Pair of 19th-Century Silver Gelatin Military Portraits in Wooden Chip-Carved Tramp Art Frames

Item Details

A pair of antique silver gelatin military photographic portraits in wooden chip-carved Tramp Art frames, circa 1880. Each photograph depicts a different man wearing formal military attire, posing for their portrait with one hand resting on a piece of furniture or interior decor. Both of the photographs were likely shot and developed by Eulenstein Photography Studio of Leipzig, Germany, but only one of the photographs has the rights displayed in the bottom margin. These photographs are protected behind a piece of hand-rolled, antique glass, and housed inside chip-carved wooden frames with a hanging device to the crests.
