Hand-Knotted Persian Art Silk Prayer Rug
Item Details
A hand-knotted Persian art silk prayer rug. It features an elaborate Central mirhab with a decorative arch having a floral urn draped with strands of pearl elements with iris, daffodil, roses, dahlia, birds, lit candles and beaded garland. The design features an ivory field to the center with scrolled spandrels in blue and grey. The outer border is primarily beige to the center with a stylized and colorful floral border in blues, greens dark red, light yellow and ivory with smaller floral and foliate borders in dark purple. It has overcast edges with a protective strip to the undersides, and hand-tied, long warp fringe to each end. It is unlabeled.
