Signed, Semi-Antique Hand-Knotted Sarouk Palace Sized Area Rug

Item Details

A signed, semi-antique hand-knotted palace-sized Persian Sarouk wool rug. The rug has a strong weft and lush pile in a brilliant Persian blue color with a colorful curvilinear design. Decorated with a dense interplay of flowering vines, blossoms, floral sprays, and intricate arabesque designs. It has a compound border accentuated with red and ivory colors. It is signed in a cartouche in to the lower center of one side and has overcast edges with dense, soft wool warp fringe to the ends. An inventory tag is present to the verso on the far side of the signature.
