This story tells how Mel Fisher discovered the treasure of the Spanish Galleon named the ‘Atocha’. Also in this lot is a silver piece of eight Atocha treasure coin replica. The obverse has a Hapsburg shield and the reverse features a Florenzada cross indicating the original coin was made in Mexico City. Atocha treasure coins were recovered by Mel Fisher in 1985 from a shipwrecked vessel near Key West, Florida. Coin comes with an appraisal certificate. Approximate total weight is 0.735 ozt.
