Edwardian Muslin and Lace Shift and a White Day Dress with Lace
Item Details
An Edwardian muslin and lace shift and a white cotton lawn day dress with lace, dating to the early twentieth century. The sleeveless shift has a square neckline with wide shoulder straps that feature delicate lace insets. The bottom has a deep row of intricate lace, and there are also small lace panel insets to the skirt. The day dress has a round neckline, with pleats along the fronts of the shoulders, and a center panel from top to hem, featuring bands of tiny horizontal pleats with lace insets, and vertical lace along the sides, from the shoulders to approximately the waist. The sleeves are approximately elbow length, with lace ruffles along the sides of the sleeves and around the bottoms. The skirt falls to floor-length, with side panels of inset lace and a lace hem. The dress hooks up the back. Neither are marked. Please see measurement details for sizing.

- some tears, damage to both
- sleeveless shift has a large rust colored stain on the lace at the bottom edge; some holes throughout; row of lace around the neckline has come loose/torn away
- day dress has dark rust colored stain at the bottom of one sleeve and in other areas; torn lace in areas; some pin holes and other wear throughout
- both are wrinkled; may benefit from cleaning and pressing
