Five letters from Civil War Soldiers to home. The first is brother to brother, and starts off: To Friend Henry, dated October 2, 1862 from Fairfax Court House from Samuel Whipple and talks about remembered times at home. as well as the men he is stationed with. Another letter to a brother, mostly about what is going on day to day, from F.H. Woods, A letter to ‘My dear wife, dated Februaty 13th 1862 from Spring Banks, VA, A letter to ’My Darling Girl, dated August 14th 1864 Near Cider Creek VA, which is extremely faded, and another letter to a wife, from Government House Hospital October 9th telling her that he thought he was of no consequence to her since he hadn’t gotten a letter from her but is glad he is now remembered. He goes on to talk about his hospital stay and how horrible the food is.

Condition

All consistent with age, some foxing, water and age marks. Creases and folds. One letter is faded to where it is hard to read. Please preview for personal assessment of condition.
