A set of signed watermarked offset lithographs by Joseph Petro (1933 – 2011). This set contains six unframed prints depicting thoroughbred horses, all copyrighted in 1967. Included are Heir Apparent, depicting a mare cleaning her newborn foal; Schooling at Home, which features a jockey, trainer, and groom with two horses; Track Prep, also a training scene; Will To Win, a racing scene; Just for Fun, which depicts two horses running in a field; and Trying His Legs, in which a young foal gallops next to its mother, who also is galloping. Each print is signed by hand and in plate. The lot includes a document titled From Foal to Finish in which Joseph Petro provides notes on each print. Each print has a Joseph Petro watermark in the lower left corner.
