Carved Mayan Warrior Mask

A Mayan wooden warrior mask. Carved from tropical wood, this piece features a warrior in an intense battle against a jaguar and a large snake. The warrior is seated upon red and green shapes lined with gold and shows worry to his expressive face. A pyramid temple is settled in the center of the mask, above an opened mouth warrior face with flanking adornments. The mask hangs with a wire to verso.
