An original vintage gouache painting on paper board by listed American artist Thomas Eason. The painting is typical of Eason’s remarkable body of work, depicting a dramatic Middle Eastern landscape. A stunning gradient sky in vivid shades of scarlet, yellow, and mint green fills the sky in front of a series of stone ruins. A striking rocky cliff climbs impressively across the right margin of the painting, and a domed structure stands at its top basking in the scene’s bright light. A robed figure walks across the painting’s foreground. The painting is signed in white to the lower right. It is presented behind antique hand-rolled glass in a wide wooden frame with gold tone inner trim and a hanging wire.
