An original pastel drawing titled ‘Seated Woman’ by artist Saul Kaplan (American, 1929 – ). This representational art depicts a seated nude woman against a green background and in shadow.
It is signed Kaplan on the upper left corner. It is presented under non-glare glass in a slim profile silver tone metal frame, with off-white and navy mats. Art is ready to hang with a rear wire.
Born in Brooklyn, Kaplan first studied art in the late 1940s at Hans Hofmann School of Fine Arts. Now he continues to work from his lake front studio and recently published a legacy book on his work in ceramics, drawing and poetry. Drawing for 69 years, his signatures art depicts faces, defined by strong lines and multiple curves.
