A watercolor painting on paper by listed artist Phil Austin (1910 – 2004), titled The Fence. This impressionist painting depicts an autumnal scene of fallen leaves collected before barren tree trunks that align a picketed fence and cobblestone wall. To the lower right corner of the composition is a hand-painted artist signature. The painting is presented under glass beneath layered matting in a dark brown wooden frame with hanging wire to the verso. Also affixed to the verso is a typed informational tag from the artist, dating this work to March 1981.

Condition

- minor wear to frame finish; glass could benefit from cleaning.
