Antique W. & L. E. Gurley Transit Surveyor Compass

Item Details

An antique transit surveyor compass from W.&L.E. Gurley. Featured is a circa early 1900s elevation and angle surveyor compass. The telescope base is marked with ‘Buff & Buff Mfg. Co. Boston’, the recording tape is stamped with ‘Chicago Steel Tape Co.’, and the wooden storage box shows a plaque to the front reading ‘Gurley Engineering Instruments’.

Condition

- nicks and marks throughout wooden case; tarnishing to clasps; compass shows discoloration spots, tarnishing, and surface wear; tape has edge wear and color toning.
