1940 Chris-Craft 22' Deluxe Utility Boat

A rare 1940 Chris-Craft 22’ Deluxe Utility boat with mahogany hull and an original pre-war Chris-Craft 6-cylinder Model K marine engine. The metal decal on the engine is stamped #21760. The boat also features a customized six-gauge blue-faced instrument cluster with extra clock, and a rear steering arm. The original linoleum panel flooring is present, a freshly upholstered blue front split bench seat, and rear bench, along with various boating necessities including boat bumpers, vintage fire extinguisher, life jackets, are also on board. The boat is towed on a Load Rite dual axle trailer.

  • Please note that payment for motor vehicles can only be rendered by cash, cashier’s check or wire transfer. Cashier’s checks take up to 24 hours to clear and all wire transfers must be made through EBTH Headquarters prior to EBTH releasing any vehicles. EBTH will not accept credit card payment for motor vehicles at any time. Additionally, EBTH does not warrant condition of vehicles. Condition stated is that of owner. Please bring mechanic to preview for personal assessment. Lastly, the winning bidder is advised to check with their DMV / BMV to ensure that all necessary paperwork, tags, title transfer, et cetera are complete before the motor vehicle is removed from the premises.

Condition

- Per consignor, the boat has been stored in a climate controlled warehouse. Engine service provided by Conley Automotive in Brighton MI was performed in May 2017, and includes new spark plugs, wires and ignition connectors, oil change and fuel additive to protect the engine. The hull was evaluated in 2014 by Wooden Runabout Co. out of Holland MI, who also painted the hull and revarnished the sideboards and bottom. The current engine decal number does not match the original bill of sale documented engine, per consignor most likely the original motor was not performing to standard at the time of assembly and replaced by the manufacturer with next the available unit, also a straight 6 pre-war model K, which is the current and running motor. The upholstery was redone 2016, and prior to dry storage the boat last ran at Les Cheneaux Islands Boat Show, August 2016.
