A black and white photograph on paper of a figurative scene by artist and photographer Don Werner (1929 – 2010). The work depicts a truncated view of a man smiling at the camera and standing in front of a bin filled with various items. While the item is not signed, it comes directly from the artist’s estate. Donald Lewis Werner was an American photographer, painter, and graphic designer born in Fresno, California in 1929. He studied at Fresno State College with Adolf and Ella Odorfer and Jane Gale. He was in Who’s Who in American Art and exhibited work at Gallery 1984, the Fresno Art Museum, the National Arts Club, and the American Museum of Natural History. His works can be found in various collections including the Smithsonian Institute and the Fresno Art Museum.
