An abstract watercolor painting on paper by listed artist Don Werner (American, 1929 – 2010). The work depicts an abstracted composition with blue tones of various thickness. A bright area of yellow orange illuminates the center of the work. Signed and dated ‘’69’ to the bottom left. To the verso an additional composition is present. The work is presented unmounted and without a frame.

Donald Lewis Werner was an American photographer, painter, and graphic designer born in Fresno, California in 1929. He studied at Fresno State College with Adolf and Ella Odorfer and Jane Gale. He was in Who’s Who in American Art and exhibited work at Gallery 1984, the Fresno Art Museum, the National Arts Club, and the American Museum of Natural History. His works can be found in various collections including the Smithsonian Institute and the Fresno Art Museum.

Condition

- some wear around edges of paper; puncture marks to the top corners from previous mounting; to the verso, large amount of paint possibly a different composition; some tape residue.
