An oil painting on canvas titled Mohter & Child by American artist Virginia Knight (20th-Century). In Knight’s style of ‘Fluid Expressionism’, the work depicts a mother with her child in her lap. The colorful work includes numerous flowers in the woman’s clothing, the nearby vase, and the background. Signed by the artist to the lower center of the composition, on the woman’s skirt. To the verso is a stamp and descriptive label from the W. T. Burger Co. The work remains unframed.

Condition

- some water stains near the lower right corner and on the woman’s legs; discoloration along the leftmost third of the composition.
