An oil painting on canvas of a forest scene by listed artist Phillip Cantrell (born 1922). This painting depicts autumnal trees with leaves rendered with dry-brushing lining a quite stream of water that cuts through the grassy land mass. To the lower right corner of the composition is an artist signature. The painting is presented in a bronze tone wooden frame featuring gessoed foliate patterning to the surface.
Condition
- some cracking of wooden frame; chipping of two corners; slight residue on painting; minor hole near lower left corner; slight craquelure present; crushed impasto.
