An oil painting on board of a tree by celebrated Louisville painter Harvey Joiner (American, 1852-1932). This painting depicts a single tree, illuminated at the base, sitting in a landscape with other trees in the distance. The painting is mounted in a gold tone gesso framed with a gold tone plaque to the lower middle with the artist name. A wire for hanging purposes and a note from the previous owner are present to the verso. Joiner is best known for his tree-filled landscapes and portraits of Indiana governors.

- edge wear to frame, painting was crackled before varnished.
