A fossil mastodon tooth. This molar tooth from the extinct mammutid proboscidean Mammut displays the pointed cusps that distinguish mastodon dentition from mammoth dentition. The specimen was collected in Kinney County, Texas on the ‘Ancho Ranch.’ The single tooth specimen is presented on a black stand with a clear plastic cover and is incorrectly labeled as ‘mastodon teeth.’
