Item Details

An antique nineteenth-century blue ground vase. The vase was decorated in a French style associated with the Vincennes or Sevres factory. The blue ground known as Bleu Lapis was first produced in the 1740’s, however, this vase was likely made in the nineteenth-century. The decoration depicts a colorful rooster and his chicken companion. There is lightly tooled gilding around the painted reserve as well as gilded rosettes. An impressed scroll mark can be found on the base.

Condition

- large crack on the top the inside of the vase; other scrapes and scuffs consistent with age and use
