Harry Reisiger Original Oil Painting on Board
Item Details
An original mid-20th century oil painting on board by well-listed Cincinnati artist Harry Reisiger (1922 – 2009), titled Village in Pinks and Whites. The painting seems to depict a highly-abstracted view inspired by Cincinnati’s Mt. Adams neighborhood, painted in wide swatches of thoughtful pale pink, white, yellow, and green pigment with dark blue accents. The painting is signed in pale green to the lower right. It is presented in a wooden slat-style frame with painted brown and white finish. A hanging wire is attached to the verso. Reisiger studied at the Cincinnati Art Academy and the University of Cincinnati; he studied under and shared a studio with Cincinnati great Paul Chidlaw. Reisiger’s pieces were often inspired by music and lyricism.
Condition
- light chipping to board’s edges. Light accretion visible to frame.
