This depiction of a sere hillside populated by windswept trees overlooking the coast and the Pacific Ocean is reminiscent of works by California Plein-Air painters of the early part of the 20th century. It is signed ‘Geo. D. Young’ in the lower left corner and is not framed. The artist’s business card is attached to the verso.
This listed California artist exhibited with success and was a long-time member of the Santa Cruz League.
