An offset lithograph titled L’Ete (Summer) after Claude Monet (1840-1926). This landscape work depicts a figure sitting in a tall green and yellow grass field with other figures in the distance basking in the fine day with gently blowing trees in the background beneath a clear blue sky above. It is presented behind a beige canvas style mat in a brown wood frame.
Claude Monet is considered the founder of French impressionistic painting and is well known for his works of art depicting the French countryside throughout his life. Many of his later works came from inspiration given by his home in Giverny where he commissioned an ambitious landscaping project, including a lily pond and large garden that would later become the subjects of many paintings.
Condition
- corners and edges are worn; a bit of fraying to cloth mat.
