A Haitian recycled steel sculpture by Jonas Balan. This wall hanging sculpture depicts a bent over flowering tree that has reached so far up to the heavens it has passed the sun. .Jonas Balan is a Haitian sculptor who creates steel art out of fifty-five-gallon steel drums. He lives in the village of Croix-des-Bouquets, outside of Port-au-Prince and works alongside his brothers Julio and Joel. Marked to the trunk of this tree is the artist’s signature. The back has a handwritten ‘Haiti’ in chalk with a Miller Gallery Cincinnati, Ohio label.
