Chinese Watercolor Painting of Zhongli Quan
Item Details
A 20th century Chinese watercolor on rice paper of Zhongli Quan (钟离权), one of the Eight Immortals in Chinese mythology. The piece depicts the figure dressed in black robes, holding a jian sword and large white fan. The work is signed in Chinese script to the upper right, along with an artist’s seal mark. An additional seal mark is located to the lower left. The piece is matted in off-white and presented under glass in a wooden frame with hanging wire to the verso.
Condition
- paper is rippled slightly inside frame; frame’s backing paper is torn; chipping and scratching to frame surface.
