Swiss Spike Bayonet - Vetterli M1863

Item Details

A circa late 19th century antique socket spike bayonet by Vetterli of Switzerland. This is the Model 1863, compatible with the M1863 Infanteriegewehr, the M1863/67 Milbank-Amsler, M1867 Peabody, and M1869 Vetterli rifles. It has a 19’ spike blade and a 24.25’ overall length. Marked with the Vetterli mark, a Swiss cross over the letter ‘V’, plus various stamped numbers.

- to fair; metal pitting and discoloration consistent with age.
