An oil painting on canvas by Burnett. This depicts a flooded Venetian canal with tall balconied buildings on the left, above a partially submerged lampost and striped pilings. The spired domes and the columned facade of the Santa Maria della Salute are seen from the other side of the Grand Canal. This work is signed in the lower right corner, and presented within a gold tone wood and gesso frame wired for hanging.
Condition
- stains to top right corner; small area of craquelure to the right side just above the center spire; stain to top center of frame.
