1833 Pihet Frères Chatellerault Infantry Sword With Scabbard

Item Details

An 1833 Pihet Frères Chatellerault French infantry sword. This sword features a brass handle with a Roman Gladius pattern of spiral at each tip of the crossguard and a concentric circle design to the grip. The blade is etched along the central ridge ‘Chatelleraule 1833’ to one side and ‘Pihet Frères’ to the other. It comes with a black leather scabbard, which features a brass chape and locket. The locket is stamped ‘404’.

Condition

- some minor rust on the blade; scuffs and nicks to handle and scabbard; dents to scabbard locket.
