An original late-20th century oil painting on canvas by German artist Hubert Schneider The painting depicts a picturesque landscape painted in attractive neutral shades of paint. Two small figures stand looking out at a foggy lakeside landscape, and a large stack of cut logs sit beside them. The painting is signed in ivory to the lower right. It is presented in a wooden frame with cast surface embellishments, seamless corners, gold tone finishes, and white linen lining. A gold tone picture light is attached to the piece’s upper edge; it has a two-prong plug and one of six bulbs were working at the time of cataloging. A hanging wire is attached to the verso. Schneider studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Dresden and focuses on romanticized landscape paintings.
