An encaustic and collage on panel titled View from a Canal by contemporary Cincinnati artist Kim Flora, created in 2008. This work was created by layering hot wax over color photographs and found periodical pages. The photographs depict the facade of a Venitian palazzo, clouded with thick layers of opaque wax. This work was part of a larger series titled _Personal Vistas Architecture _, which was part of the City of Cincinnati Individual Artist grant the artist received. To the verso, this piece is signed to the lower right and titled to the lower left in ink. Presented as an unframed panel. This piece was originally on view at the Pendleton Art Center in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Flora originating from Baltimore. currently lives in Cincinnati, Ohio and works in paint and collage. The industrial coastline of Maryland informs her artwork. She received honors in both Fine Art and Art History from the Art Academy of Cincinnati. This academic experience led her to museum work; specifically installation and exhibition design. She has exhibited at Phyllis Weston Gallery, Manifest Gallery, the Cincinnati Art Museum, and the University of Wisconsin. Flora has been award many honors from a summer studio at Academy of Fine Art, Munich to the City of Cincinnati’s Individual Artist Grant. Her work can be found in many private and public collections including Tente International, the Cincinnati Art Museum, and the Horseshoe Casino, Cincinnati.
