S. Gharib Egyptian Style Gouache Painting on Papyrus
Item Details
An Egyptian style gouache painting on papyrus by artist S. Gharib. This painting depicts a traditional wall scene featuring servants, pharaohs and an offered feast, which is surrounded by hieroglyphs in a vertical arrangement. To the lower left margins is a painted artist signature. The painted papyrus is mounted to a light brown surface, which is presented under glass in a green metal frame. To the verso is a tag from the International Papyrus Center, a birthday card featuring a Meadowlark bird, and affixed hanging wire.
Condition
- glass could benefit from cleaning; birthday card torn and stained.
