Vintage Brown Glazed Teapots
Item Details
A selection of vintage to antique brown glazed teapots. This selection includes a teapot in the style of Bennington, featuring an embossed floral and foliate pattern and a light brown glaze. It has a round lid with a small embossed finial and oversized spout. A mark to the underside is obscured under the glaze. Also in this selection is a dark brown glazed teapot with a rim, matched on the tip of the spout. It has a fitted lid with a metal chain around the finial on the lid of the teapot, the other end of which has a metal ring attached. It is labeled to the underside by a prior owner, ‘Brown Glazed teapot, probably by Littler c.1755’ but this origin is not confirmed.
Condition
- some wear to base and upper lip where lid sits; scratches to glaze on teapot with chain; sticker residue present; teapot with chain has piece of paper taped to the base.
