Excellent Anthony Thieme Oil on Canvas Painting of Mexican Scene

An excellent original oil on stretched canvas painting by esteemed genre painter Anthony Thieme (Holland, Massachusetts, Florida and California, 1888-1954). The painting depicts a Mexican setting, looking through an arch structure to a quaint Mission church in the background and a man standing on the left in the foreground. The painting consists of an earth tone color palette. It is signed in the left hand corner ‘A. Thieme.’ It is presented in a wooden molding frame; to the verso either a lot of accession number, as well as. the place of the painting, written on the verso of the canvas.

Consistent with use – frame is chipped throughout
