James Rosenquist Signed Limited Edition Aquatint and Etching "Star Proctor"

A signed limited edition aquatint and etching titled Star Proctor, created in 1978 by renowned American Pop artist James Rosenquist (1933-2017). This work features a visual montage of various organic shapes and media imagery set in a horizontal arrangement. Black blobs incised with white lines flank the central area; a triangular fragment of printed economic statistics and a fork on the end pierces a white organic form the center. Numbers float throughout and parts of the white form embossed with a silhouette of a fork. The print is dated and signed by hand to the lower right. It is numbered 3 out of an edition of 78 and titled to the lower left. The print is not mounted and remains unframed.
As one of the pioneers of Pop Art, recently passed James Rosenquist is known for his large work that often incorporates fragmented advertising and mass media imagery. This use of adverting and mass media stems from his work experience as a billboard painter. His work has been exhibited and collected by numerous renowned art institutions including the Museum of Modern Art, the Whitney Museum of American Art, and the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, to name a few.
