An original etching on wove paper by well-listed American artist Ernest C. Rost (New York/California, 1867 – 1940), titled Fisherman’s Home. The print depicts a dock protruding into a wide, bright body of water near a picturesque cottage-like abode. The image is created in thoughtful swatches of linework etched with brilliant intricacy. The print is signed and dated 1890 in-plate to the lower left. The piece’s title and artist’s names are printed to the lower right margin. The print is matted in black and presented behind non-glare glass in a rounded wooden frame with a gold tone fillet and hanging wire.
Condition
- paper has yellowed slightly with age.
