Vintage Hudson's Bay Point Blanket
Item Details
A vintage Hudson’s Bay Point blanket. The 100% wool blanket is ivory, with bold stripes in navy blue, yellow, red and green. There are four black ‘points’ at one side, with three of the same length, and one shorter. The blankets’ history dates to the 18th and 19th centuries, when they were typically traded with Native Americans in exchange for beaver pelts. This blanket measures approximately 78′ × 31′, and it retains its original label, affixed to one corner. The tag is marked ’Hudson’s Bay Point Blanket 100% Wool – Made in England.’
