Vintage Madam Alexander "Sonja Henie" Doll

A 1939 Madam Alexander Sonja Henie doll. Sonja Henie was a figure skater and actress and the subject of many different dolls by Madam Alexander. As this version, Sonja sports tight blonde curls with floral pins and a face featuring hand-painted eyelashes, eyebrows, rouged dimpled cheeks, red lips, and brown sleep eyes. She is jointed at the neck, shoulders, and hips and wears a light sleeveless dress with sequin accents on the shoulders and hips connected to a skirt of tulle and lattice above a pair of ice skates on her feet. The back of her neck is marked ‘Madam Alexander, Sonja Henie.’ Includes her original box which shows wear and a metal doll stand.

- lines throughout indented in composition skin, discoloration of outfit, sleep eyes yellowed from age, inner elastic loose, comes in original box with hairnet and packing.
