Item Details

A late 19th-century gesso and gilt floral moulding frame, circa 1870s. This piece features a wooden liner, a sanded panel with a dog rose relief moulding in an antique dark gold finish. No mark was found to the verso. A ‘Marty Scherer’ informational gallery label is affixed to the verso of the frame. The frame includes the glass.

Condition

- missing gesso areas on frame; stains, scratches, craquelure and wear to antique dark gold finish; smudges and dust glass, would benefit from cleaning; minor abrasion to wooden liner; exposed nails to verso on frame.
