19th Century Leather-Clad Trunk from Boston
Item Details
An antique 19th century leather-clad trunk from Boston. The trunk has a rounded top and base, and is accented with four leather bands accented with large brass grommets. The trunk has leather straps and handles, a shield-shaped brass front lock with key and plaque that is monogrammed in beautiful script George H. Peirce Boston. The trunk’s interior is lined in a waxed linen, with a storage pocket with fold-down panel to the inside of the lid, decorated in a periwinkle blue painted decorative pattern, and finished with a dyed red folio with tooled accents. The trunk’s lid has blue and cream-striped canvas side straps to the inside. The trunk has wooden rails to the base.
