A signed and numbered artist proof etching, Mile High Stadium, by Philip C. Thompson (American, b. 1948). The etching depicts Denver, Colorado’s old Mile High Stadium, before it was torn down and replaced by Invesco Field at Mile High. The etching depicts the stadium filled to capacity on game day, as viewed from above. It is marked in pencil with ‘Artist Proof’ to the lower left corner, with the title in the center and the artist’s signature to the lower right, ‘Philip C. Thompson ©06 [possibly ’©66]’. The etching is presented with a white mat and glass in a narrow black metal frame and is ready to hang. The backing is also stamped ‘Philip C. Thompson Intaglio Process Etchings’.
