A 1974 original print of Willard Mullin’s ‘The Big Red Machine’. The unframed print comes in its’ original cover folder. The work depicts a large Cincinnati Reds player swinging a bat at all the other National League mascots, hence he is ‘The Big Red Machine’ powering over the rest of the National League. The other mascots shown are the Cubs, Braves, Padres, an Expos player, a Philadelphia boy, Mets boy, Giants player, Astros player, Dodgers gambler and a Pirate. There are stars indicating the pain. This work is done in a cartoon fashion, no mascot or player was actually assaulted. The print is not signed, but according to the cover folder only 2000 of the unsigned were produced.
